Join us for a Level 1 course
Our Level 1 AAA accredited avalanche course teaches the essentials necessary to travel safely and confidently in the backcountry. This SPAE Level 1 course is orientated towards skiers and splitboarders.
This course consists of one live online Zoom session being held on the evening of Friday, March 5th, from 6-8 pm MST. There will also be four hours of prerecorded talks participants can watch at their own pace. Links for the talks will be sent upon registration. The course will also consist of two full-field days held on March 6th and 7th. The course focuses on key points of avalanche education: avalanche terrain identification, mountain snowpack/weather, avalanche forecasting & problems, decision making and companion rescue. Our Level 1 follows the guidelines set by the American Avalanche Association (AAA). Our instructors are experienced avalanche educators who provide the highest level of expertise. This course is the perfect stepping stone to more advanced training in the future.
