Free Avalanche Awareness Talk

Join Eric Knoff, owner of Six Points Avalanche Education and former GNFAC avalanche forecaster, for a free avalanche awareness talk on Oct. 19th from 6:30-8 pm. This talk will take place at the Stio Mountain Studio in downtown Bozeman. Topics covered include recent avalanche statistics, terrain analysis, snowpack structure/stability, and basic avalanche rescue techniques. A basic gear demonstration on the three essential pieces of rescue gear - avalanche transciever, shovel, and probe will also be conducted. Cold refreshments will also be provided during the talk. This is a great opportunity to enjoy an avalanche awareness talk in a small group setting and start your winter by learning more about staying safe in the backcountry.
